Bronzegate had his first Australian win since being transferred from NZ, with a dominant performance at Ipswich today. Thwarted by wet tracks and an enforced reduction in the racing distance last week, the son of Postponed was extremely impressive, racing away from his opposition in the straight to win by an ever increasing 6.5 lengths.

Ridden by champion jockey, Jeff Lloyd, and racing in Gerry Harvey’s famous blue and white colours, the flashy chestnut gelding settled well from a good barrier, and loomed ominously into the race prior to the turn, and it was all over in a couple of strides.

This was an excellent effort; a jump in 800m, a jump in class, and carrying topweight of 59kg. If he was ever going to be vulnerable, today was the day, so it augurs well for his future.

Congratulations to all owners, for many it was their first ever race win, so very exciting!

Yet another reason to get on board with the Esprit Racing stable!
