A great day for Esprit Racing with Irish Constabulary having a well deserved win, and I Feel Good running a gallant 2nd at Doomben today

Following his last start Group 3 placing, Irish was well drawn, down in grade and had premier jockey Jeff Lloyd aboard again.

Whilst he was up significantly in weight, it was the wetter track with the weight that was the main concern.

Positioned beautifully in a relaxed position, Irish pushed up before the turn and when the gap opened he charged through, quickly establishing a winning gap. Although he was spinning his wheels late, it was a convincing win.

For I Feel Good, it was the wet track that brought about his undoing, as he hit a slippery patch of ground as he was commencing his run prior to the turn. He lost his momentum for a few strides before rallying strongly to just miss the winner. Surely he gets his preferred dry track soon to have his day!

A great training effort by John Symons, and both horses are thrilling their owners with their performances, showing again the reason to get on board the Esprit Racing stable!
