A very exciting day for Esprit Racing’s apprentice Stephanie Lacy, with her first metropolitan win on the Steve Tregea trained Backslapper at Doomben yesterday. Only granted her metropolitan licence 10 days ago, Steph just missed a perfect start with a close second on our Irish Constabulary, before backing up with a superbly judged front running ride on the well supported 4yo Court Command gelding.

A daughter of proud parents who were jockeys in NZ, Steph moved to Australia 6 years ago, and has impressed Esprit Racing’s John Symons and Sheila Laxon with her talent and work ethic. So much so that she has been given the responsibility for a big book of rides at Sunshine Coast today. We look forward to these sorts of results in the Esprit Racing colours!

Good luck, and keep up the great work, Steph!
