Jockey manager Adrian Coyne took an early morning phone call to see if his jockey Daniel Stackhouse could help us in a bind. Stacky certainly made the most of the pick up ride with his pre-race confidence that he wanted to be on the outside fence with Madam Stryker in the BM58 2000m at Donald. After keeping her out of the early scrimmage he let the mare travel unencumbered by the speed battle before creeping up outside of the leader. Stackhouse made a clear commitment in what was a winning move with the Madam striding home in dominant fashion. Madam has certainly not had the cleanest of preparations with her fair share of bad luck including suffering from an allergy to a fibre commonly found in synthetic surfaces causing cellulitis. The team has certainly been kept on there toes trying to get this girl back up to her early promise. After her last start 3rd from a short freshen up we were confident that at last we may have overcome the hurdles and be back on track. The weeks rain also buoyed our hopes going into the event. We can’t be more thankful to all the connections of Madam Stryker who have been incredibly patient and deserve this victory and kudos to the jock on a tactical ride that got her across the line
