River Lee showed great promise winning in a dominant fashion at Geelong during the week. Super Vobis qualified meant an extra big payday for the owners. This Bushranger filly (now mare) showed us good potential at home and we went into the race confident that given luck in running she would show them a clean set of heels. That confidence was borne out when Dean Holland punched her out of the gates, took them on and she was never headed, breaking their hearts with a first up win for Team Sell.

We got this girl from the Scully’s and she has always looked to have potential. We are thankful to them for trusting us with this exciting mare and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship moving forward. Hopefully now she can continue to step up through her grades. City class is a distinct possibility.

Interestingly she is out of Bianca Gold a dual winning mare. We have her 2 other daughters with some of the lease still available. An unraced 3 year old Lucas Cranach filly and a Fighting Sun 2 year old filly. Both impressed Mick and Mel with their early looks and if they have the speed of River Lee a new leaseholder will be in for an exciting ride. Check the website for details, we are currently fielding renewed interest after River Lee’s performance, we recommend you don’t wait around if you’re interested.
