A full field of sixteen runners are set to contest the Group 2 $200,000 Sir John Monash P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield today after the weight for age race was free of scratchings.

The rail will out 3m for the entire course on P.B. Lawrence Stakes Day with the track rated as a Good 4 with the possibility of a shower in the afternoon.

Trainer Mick Bell is hoping the heavens open up prior to the running of the P.B. Lawrence Stakes to help the chances of his mudlark Jungle Edge whose fourteen wins have all been on rain affected tracks.

The Group 3 $150,000 KS Enviromental Vain Stakes (1100m) for the three years old colts and geldings will have nine runners following the scratching of Titan Blinders while the Group 3 $150,000 Winslow Group Quezette Stakes (1100m) will have a capacity field of sixteen fillies with the withdrawal of Lady Horseowner and Belzella making way for the first two emergencies while the third emergency Sweet Rockette wasn’t required.
