He may not be the biggest horse in stature but Carlingford didn’t take any notice of that as he easily put pay to his opposition whilst carrying the impost weight. It really looked the right race for him to take after an extremely pleasing return first up going down by the barest of margins. Once again Carlingford showed his professionalism popping the head on his chest cruising along just behind the fast paced leaders. Rounding the home turn he was carted wider on the corner than anticipated, upon straightening though it became apparent that jockey Craig Robertson was just waiting to push the go button. Go then he did putting away the win in comfortable fashion never leaving in doubt the long held opinion by all in the stable that this nuggety sweet natured bay fella is the consummate professional with some serious upside.
