Yes Yes Yes will be stepping out for the first time for the Chris Waller stable after winning two of his three starts for Darren Weir and a good first up performance will see the Rubick colt progress onto the Group 1 $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on March 23.

Yes Yes Yes was given no favours in the barrier draw and will jump from the outside of the ten horse Todman Stakes field.

Waller will be instructing Blake Shinn to take an early sit and look for some cover before finding clear space in the straight to challenge the leaders.

“We want to be attacking the line strongly two weeks out from the Golden Slipper,” Waller said.

“So from the wide draw we will probably be a little cautious, ensuring that he is not up in the leading division but somewhere just behind the pace, finding some cover which would be ideal to finish off strongly.”

Waller added that Yes Yes Yes has settled into his new surroundings in fine order and the premiership winning trainer was happy with his second in a recent Canterbury barrier trial.

“He has done everything right since joining the stable, he is a very professional horse, with an extremely bright future,” Waller said.

“Obviously he has two wins in his last two starts next to his name. He trialled well and has come through that trial, which was very impressive, without any problems.”

Yes Yes Yes is on the second line of betting at $4.60 for the Todman Stakes with Ladbrokes.com.au behind the Gary Portelli trained Time To Reign who is the $2.80 favourite.
