Winx’s owners Peter and Patty Tighe, Richard Treweeke and Debbie Kepitis along with trainer Chris Waller called an end to the mighty mare’s illustrious career after she won her third Group 1 $4m Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on Day Two of The Championships on April 13.

The Queen Elizabeth Stakes capped off a remarkable career for Winx who strung together thirty-three consecutive wins, twenty-five at Group 1 level which included a record breaking four consecutive victories in the Group 1 $5m Ladbrokes Cox Plate (2040m) at The Valley.

Winx’s group of owners had a hard decision to choose a first time stallion mating for the $26 million prizemoney earner but the proven record of I Am Invincible was hard to ignore.

“As owners, we have utilised and considered the expert advice of bloodstock professionals both domestically and internationally,” they said.

“We have sought the opinions of various pedigree consultants, bloodstock agents and stud managers.

“They provided us with the foundation of information to assess and use to compile the short list of stallions for consideration.

“This process highlighted the extreme depth to the stallion ranks in Australia and across the world, however when considering the options of travelling overseas her welfare remained of the highest priority and we decided she would remain in Australia for her first breeding season.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who made expressions of interest. The level of attention was overwhelming and something we are very grateful for.”

I Am Invincible is second on the general sires list to Snitzel and his daughter, the Chris Waller trained Invincibella, won the final Group One race of the 2018 – 2019 Australian season last Saturday at Eagle Farm, the $500,000 Sky Racing Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m).

I Am Invincible’s service fee for the 2019 breeding season is $247,500.
