Betting at Ladbrokes.com.au on race morning for the Caulfield Guineas sees The Autumn Sun unchallenged at $1.70 with his nearest rival Native Soldier at $7.

The lightly raced The Autumn Sun is already a dual Group 1 winner from only five race starts and includes his most recent last to first win in the Group 1 $1m De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on September 22.

“I am very excited about his future and the mile should suit on Saturday,” Waller said.

“He has done everything right since his impressive win in the Golden Rose.”

“He is all class and this is on and off the track, he has a great temperament and he is very athletic. He is certainly no fuss to have around and an absolute pleasure to be working with.”

The Autumn Sun will be having his first look at Caulfield under race conditions but Waller said the colt handled the track well when he galloped there on Tuesday morning.

“He got around Caulfield very well on Tuesday morning,” Waller said.

Native Soldier is the first of trainer Darren Weir’s two Caulfield Guineas runners and is coming off an all the way win in the Group 3 $175,000 Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) at Caulfield on September 30 two weeks ago.

Weir will also saddle up Leonardo Da Hinchi who is marked at $10 coming off a last start win in the Group 2 $200,000 Carlton Draught Stutt Stakes (1600m) The Valley on September 28.

The only filly in the Caulfield Guineas field is the Tony McEvoy trained Oohood who is well in contention in the betting at $7.50.

Oohood has been a consistent Group 1 performer from her two year old days and broke through for her maiden win last start when she got the judge’s decision in a four way photo finish in the Group 1 $500,000 Darley Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on September 29.
