A great effort by Tarcoola Spirit at headquarters on Saturday. She clearly loves the Flemington Straight and was brave going down in a head bobbing driving finish . Super ride by Linda Meech and when she hit the front she looked like she would land the prize. The key to this filly is some cut in the ground. We think/know she is lengths better on a rain affected track and likely that was her undoing Saturday .

The $27,000 runners up cheque was some consolation and we can plan her prep to coincide with good options for her back at Flemington over the coming months. When the stars align and the rain falls she will be mighty tough to beat and she is an exciting horse with a real future. Already with $140,000 in the kitty she will add plenty to the coffers when she gets her optimum conditions.

Our horses are running consistently well . That’s two weekends in a row where we have sent one horse to the feature Saturday Victorian meeting and run a close second. We appreciate it’s not winning but those two second placed efforts netted the owners $55,000 . You have to win four maybe five at a lower level to build these numbers. We are naturally happy to win anywhere but our owners deserve the opportunity to run and watch their horses at the highest level . That’s the quality of horse we want to race and we have some high class horses coming through the system that will fit the profile .Stable is quietly but surely building and the future is starting to look much brighter.
