Mewstone Rock returned to the track with a slashing last to first win over 1200m at Sunshine Coast last night.

Ridden well by Steph Lacy, the 6yo mare was thought to be slightly underdone going into the race, but showed her class with a dominant performance sweeping down the outside.

She has been dogged with bad luck throughout her career, but hopefully she is on her way towards 2000m, where trainers John and Sheila have always suggested she will be seen at her best.

Condolences go out to part owner Simon Foy, who sadly lost his wife Lexi this week to a rare form of cancer, and it was a touching moment as Steph wore a black armband to victory and course commentator Josh Fleming paid a special tribute.

Congratulations to her extremely patient owners!
