Fantastic win by MAGAZINE GAP at Geelong yesterday coming from last on the corner with a barnstorming finish.

In form jock Jamie Mott has been doing plenty of work for the stable behind the scenes so it was great to team up with him for a nice winner! Jamie Mott and fellow Mornington rider Daniel Stackhouse are doing the majority of our jumpouts and trials so we are giving those two boys most of the race-rides. Both boys are in great form and it’s certainly an advantage having some consistency with your riders who get to know the idiosyncrasies of each horse.

MAGAZINE GAP is owned by Hong Kong based owner Michael Tong who has been a great supporter for many years and looks to have found himself a really progressive horse!

He showed some really good signs last year as a 3yo before injuring his knee when running second at Pakenham. He had 6 months out following knee surgery and didn’t receive an overly positive prognosis from the surgeons. Touch wood, he knee is holding up and he now looks ready to fulfil his early potential.

ROYAL ZEPHYR DEBUTS AT MORNINGTON

Commands 2yo ROYAL ZEPHYR takes on the older horses at Mornington today. Purchased at last years Ready to Run Sale in NZ, the son of Commands has good ability and is expected to run well today but is no good thing.

We had a genetic test done on him and his best distance is going to be 1600m to 1800m so today might prove a tad short for him. In time, he will be a really nice horse but he is mentally not quite there yet. If he wins today, it will be on pure ability!

SHARE FOR SALE IN THUNDER TEDDINGTON

When Hungarian import Thunder Teddington was purchased from Europe, a legion of die-hard Teddy fans from Hungary decided to buy 5% and race him in Australia. Due to a change in circumstances, they have had to sell their 5% which we are now offering to anyone interested. Teddy is expected to return to the track in Spring.
