Trainer Anthony Cummings is confident that his rising star Libertini has done enough work in her lead up to her return to the racetrack to live up to her odds on quote in the Group 2 $200,000 Darley Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.

“She’s got the spring campaign in front of her, so do most of the fillies there, so there is some improvement to come but she’s forward enough to do what’s being asked of her,” Cummings told AAP.

Libertini is the winner of two of her three race starts and was sent for a spell following her all the way win in the Listed $140,000 Yarraman Park Woodlands Stakes (1100m) at Scone on May 11.

“She has the traits of all the good ones from what we’ve seen so far but she’s up in grade now and she’s got to take that step,” Cummings said.

“I expect she will, but they’ve got to do it.

“She’s improved every week she’s been back, and she’s taken a nice step again after her gallop last Saturday, so she turns up in good shape.”

Libertini will follow the Darley Princess Series for the three year old fillies at Randwick which starts with the Silver Shadow Stakes on Saturday and culminates with the Group 1 $500,000 Darley Flight Stakes (1600m) on October 5.

In between is the Group 2 $200,000 Darley Furious Stakes (1200m) on September 7 and the Group 2 $200,000 Darley Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) on September 21.

Libertini dominates the betting for the Silver Shadow Stakes at $1.75 with Ladbrokes.com.au and will jump from barrier two in the field that has been reduced to nine runners with the early scratching of the Chris Waller trained Lucicello.

Sharing the second line of betting at $4.80 are the James Cummings trained stablemates Tenley and Flit.

Tommy Berry was aboard Libertini for her win in the Woodlands Stakes and gets the ride again in the Silver Shadow Stakes.

Betting for the 2019 Silver Shadow Stakes at Ladbrokes.com.au: $1.75, Libertini, $4.80 Tenley, Flit, $12 Let It Pour, $17 Villami, $20 Pretty Brazen, $34 Catwalk, Steel Diamond, $151 Mistress Mouse.
