Despite racing in unsuitable wet ground, and on what had been a leader dominated track all night, the 9yo I Feel Good was so fresh and happy that he doggedly chased down the leader and favourite, Locus, to win at home on the Sunshine Coast last night.
Ridden beautifully by Michael Hellyer, “Goody” made up for a disappointing start to the evening (with Cairnsy’s racetrack debut being thwarted by scratching at the barrier), by showing he has not lost his zest for racing and that he should be in for a good campaign.
This brings up 2 wins for the stable this week after Private Hero performed similarly last Sunday, and with the finer weather surely about to arrive, the Esprit Racing stable should go from strength to strength in coming weeks and months.
