Hawkesbury trainer Mitch Newman saddled up his first winner for the 2014/15 Racing Season when Beautiful Crown gelding Full Revs saluted at Dubbo on Sunday in the $15,000 Dubbo Photo News Maiden Handicap (1400m).

At his ninth-career start the lightly raced four-year-old was sent out second favourite after a recent placing at Hawkesbury. With Jay Ford of Takeover Target fame having his fourth ride aboard Full Revs he would settle back in the field from an outside alley before powering over the top of his thirteen rivals for a half-length victory.

Into his second campaign and rising out to 1400 metres – the stable expects the horse will improve over further distances with the ability to ‘drop the bit’ in the run and being out of a Zabeel mare.

From nine career runs Full Revs has earned $15,000 in prizemoney.
