Trainer Chris Munce is looking to Skate To Paris’ performance in the Listed $125,000 The Bracelet (1600m) at Doomben on Saturday as a significant guide to her chances of running in the Queensland Oaks.

The Group 1 $500,000 Treasury Brisbane Queensland Oaks for the three year old fillies will again be run over the shorter distance of 2200m at Doomben on May 26 instead of the traditional 2400m, while Eagle Farm remains out of business because of ongoing redevelopment.

Skate To Paris has been placed at her last four starts, including a last start third in the Listed $100,000 Princess Stakes (1600m) at the Sunshine Coast on April 14 and Munce is looking to another first class performance to lock in a spot in the Blue Riband race for the fillies during the 2018 Brisbane Winter Carnival.

“It was a good run last week and I will put her in the Doomben Bracelet (1600m) on Saturday with the (Group One) Queensland Oaks in mind,” Munce told AAP.

Skate To Paris showed plenty of promise during her two year old season with two Stakes placings at Doomben over the 2017 Brisbane Winter Carnival with a second in the Listed $100,000 Oxlade Stakes (1200m) followed by a second in the Listed $100,000 Bill Carter Stakes (1200m).

The Bradbury’s Luck filly is in for a long campaign with her third in the Princess Stakes being her fifth run in this preparation that began with a fourth in a 1050m three year old Handicap at Doomben February 17.

A second at Doomben over 1110m followed before running second to Sista Act in the $125,000 QTIS three year old Jewel (1200)m at the Gold Coast on March 17 and was relegated to the runner’s up stall once more when second over 1400m at the Gold Coast again.

Skate To Paris has one win and seven placings from her eleven race starts.
