Penny to Sell dominated the field in the BM78 mile at Ballarat last Sunday. She put in a blistering final 400 metres running 23.98 and making up at least 12 lengths on the leaders, running away to win by 2. Robbo told us she would win her next over the mile and he hit the nail on the head.

Hearts were in the mouth initially as she played up a bit in the barrier for Robbo and missed the kick. Knowing Penny we weren’t surprised. Robbo once again proved why he is preferred stable jockey when he didn’t panic, put her to sleep, saved some ground round the bend and then gave her plenty of room to let down. Let down she did in what was a very impressive win against some smart horses, it gave up goosebumps how quickly she went past them.

We know Penny gets further and will now carefully plot her future with the city beckoning and maybe, just maybe, some country cups in the offing. In the meantime, she continues to rack up the Pennies having now earned in excess of $150,000 for her owners. Hopefully there’s plenty more where that came from for this consistent mare.
