Co-trainer Natalie Young is predicting that her filly Letzbeglam will enjoy a sweet run in Saturday’s Group 1 $1.5m Ned Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield after drawing an inside barrier.

Letzbeglam drew gate three in the sixteen horse Blue Diamond Stakes field and will get a much better run throughout the race than she did when she won from barrier nine in the Group 2 $200,000 Neds Blue Diamond Prelude (F) (1100m) at Caulfield on February 8.

The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young trained Letzbeglam jumped from the outside gate in the nine horse Blue Diamond Prelude field for the fillies and jockey Brett Prebble was planted three wide on the Snitzel filly up the side and around the home turn.

Even though she had a very tough run with no cover, Letzbeglam still careered away in the straight to score a dominant win over the other fillies.

“She jumped from barrier nine in the Prelude and sat three-deep without cover so I think barrier three is going to be completely in her favour,” Young told Racenet.

“She has come on since that race and she did a lovely piece of work on the course proper this morning and she pulled up really well.”

Melbourne Cup winning jockey Brett Prebble has been aboard Letzbeglam for her two wins from two race starts and is sticking with the filly in the Blue Diamond Stakes.

Letzbeglam is well up in the betting at Ladbrokes.com.au and is on the third line at $8 for the Blue Diamonds Stakes.

Unbeaten Melbourne colt Hanseatic is the $2.50 ruling favourite ahead of his interstate rival Rulership at $6 and the two juveniles are set to clash again after finished first and second in the Group 3 $200,000 Neds Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G) (1100m) at Caulfield on February 8.

Busuttin and Young will also saddle up Tagaloa in the Blue Diamond Stakes and the Lord Kanaloa colt wasn’t that far off the pace last start when fourth to Hanseatic in the Blue Diamond Prelude for the Colts and Geldings.

Betting for the 2020 Blue Diamond Stakes at Ladbrokes.com.au: $2.50 Hanseatic, $6 Rulership, $8 Letzbeglam, $11 Muntaseera, Away Game, $15 Rathlin, $16 Tagaloa, $17 Personal, $26 Aryaaf, A Beautiful Night, $41 Riverina Storm, $51 Tanker, Ideas Man, $81 Glenfiddich, $101 Fayerra, $201 Difficult.
