CUP TRIUMPH: Mick Sell has landed success in Gunbower.

Sell won the $20,000 feature race with six-year-old Penny To Sell.KYNETON trainer Mick Sell has continued his good form by landing victory in the 2017 Gunbower Cup (1800m) on Saturday.

It was the mare’s second straight win following a 2000m win at Ballarat on September 24 and her sixth in total from 38 career starts.

She was ridden to perfection by Chris Nicol, who issued a challenge to the early pacesetter and racer favourite Not To Know on rounding the corner and hit the front half way down the straight.

Not To Know was chasing a third-straight win for her trainer Mitchell Freedman.

The seven-year-old gelding entered the race fresh from a win in the Sheep Hills Cup at Warracknabeal on September 2, but had to settle for second place.

Penny To Sell’s victory was trainer Sell’s sixth win of the 2017-18 racing season.
