McDonald kicked home five winner’s at Randwick last Saturday which included a Group 1 winner for trainer Chris Waller on Funstar in the $500,000 Darley Flight Stakes (1600m) and the Sydney based Kiwi hoop will be hoping for another Group 1 success for the master trainer with Kubrick.

“He has a wide draw and that is what we will be trying to overcome,” Waller said.

“The horse is well, has worked very good and has settled in well into the Flemington stable.”

Kurbrick drew barrier seventeen of nineteen in the original Caulfield Guineas draw and will move in two places if there are no more scratchings.

Krubrick was Group 1 placed at the end of his two year old season when a close second to Prince Fawaz in the $600,000 Magic Millions J.J. Atkins Plate (1600m) at Eagle Farm during the 2019 Brisbane Winter Carnival.

The Shooting To Win colt is ready to step up to the 1600m of the Caulfield Guineas at his third run back after finishing fourth in the Group 2 $200,000 Sydney Markets Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill on September 14 followed by a fifth to Bivouac in the Group 1 $1m De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill a fortnight ago.

“He is already Group 1 placed and we are hoping he go to a Group 1 winner in his own right tomorrow,” Waller said.

Kubrick has been hovering around the $7 mark for the Caulfield Guineas at Ladbrokes.com.au while the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas trained Dalasan sits at the top of the betting at $3.80 ahead of the Queensland trained three year old Alligator Blood at $5.

The South Australian trained Dalasan has drawn the visitor’s barrier and will jump from the outside gate when the final field of sixteen is sorted out at scratching time on Saturday morning.

Hugh Bowman will take over the reins on Dalasan from Raquel Clark who has been aboard the colt for his last three starts for two wins and a last start second to Alligator Blood in the Group 3 $250,000 Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) at Caulfield on September 29.
