A copy book ride from James McDonald on Invincibella gave the in-form hoop an early winning double after he took out the first race on Stradbroke Handicap Day, the Listed $125,000 Kirin Daybreak Lover (1200m), on the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Signore Fox.

Invincibella showed her liking for the Sunshine State by scoring her fourth win north of the border following wins on Magic Millions Day in 2018 and 2019 at the Gold Coast as well as last year’s Dane Ripper Stakes at Doomben.

The I Am Invincible mare went on to finish fifth in last year’s Group 1 $500,000 Tattersall’s Tiara when it was run over 1350m at Doomben and Waller will give her the chance of claiming the major prize for the Group 1 for the fillies and mares when it returns to Eagle Farm over 1400m in a fortnight.

“She is coming right at the right time of the year,” Waller said.

“She has been out of form I guess you can say. She is a multiple Group 2 winner and if we can get a Group 1 in two weeks time she will close out her career in good style.”

“It is great to be back at Eagle Farm and if the track is like it is today she will be hard to beat.”

McDonald had Invincibella ($8.50) in the box seat after jumping from barrier three in the eleven horse field and produced her at the right time in the straight to hold off the $31 outsider Platinum Angel with the winner’s stablemates Prompt Response ($7.50) and Noire ($10) in third and fourth positions.

The $2.90 favourite Outback Barbie was caught three wide for the entire trip and found nothing in the straight and could only beat one runner home.

Invincibella is now marked at $9 for the Tattersall’s Tiara at Ladbrokes.com.au.
