Alligator Blood has come up with barrier ten in the fifteen horse field for the $5m The All-Star Mile (1600m) at Caulfield on Saturday but trainer David Vandyke is confident his stable star will give another one hundred percent effort.

“He is going to turn up here Saturday and I guarantee that he is going to want to win,” Vandyke told 927 RSN Central.

Alligator Blood is the winner of ten of eleven starts and made it five from five this campaign with his stunning win in the Group 1 $1m Kennedy Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on February 29.

Alligator Blood has had a long campaign that kicked off with a win in the Listed $200,000 Pages Gold Edition Plate (1200m) at Eagle Farm on December 14 and Vandyke won’t be disappointed if the The All Too Hard three year old gets beaten on Saturday.

“There is a lot riding on this Saturday but in saying that he has just done so well. I don’t want his performance on Saturday, if he doesn’t perform up to expectation, to tarnish what we have seen thus far,” Vandyke said.

Regular rider Ryan Maloney will continue his association with Alligator Blood who has retained his spot at the top of The All-Star Mile market order at $2.80 with Ladbrokes.com.au.

The multiple Group 1 winning Kiwi mare Melody Belle has drawn nicely at gate five and is on the second line of betting at $4.80.

Gun Kiwi jockey Opie Bosson rides Mellody Belle again in The All-Star Mile after the pair finished third behind Streets of Avalon and Super Seth in the Group 1 $500,000 PFD Food Services Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 22.

On the third line of betting at $8.50 is the Matthew Smith trained Fierce Impact who has drawn barrier twelve while Kolding (barrier 7), Regal Power (Barrier 3) and  Mr Quickie (barrier 4) are all sharing the next line of betting at $11.
